Lutenitsa is a traditional staple of Bulgarian cuisine.

It’s main ingredients are usually red peppers, tomatoes, onions, carrots and spices. Peppers, however, are the main product and they are at the bottom of its bright red color. Lutenitsa also contains oil, and the more important spices are hot peppers and garlic, to which it owes its taste and name (which means “hot” in Bulgarian).
